Psych 418 (Haley) Review for Exam II Format: similar to exam I o 30-35 multiple choice questions (1-2 points each) o some fill in the blank and/or matching o some calculation questions o 3-4 short answer questions o formula sheets: you may label the formulas, but no other explanations are allowed. You may put the Source Table on your formula sheet. o I will provide z, t, F, and Q tables For all short answer questions o use bullets rather than paragraphs o use full sentences For all calculation questions o keep calculations up to 4 decimal points o round the last number as usual: 0.33333 = 0.3333; 0.33336 = 0.3334 Be sure to review and remember the order of math operations! Topics o Correlated groups t-test Know what it is Know when to use it Know how to calculate & interpret observed t-values If given partial data, you should be able to fill in the blanks Use 2-tailed critical values even for directional hypotheses Know the assumptions for correlated groups t o Cohen’s d Know how to compute it
