There are many strong aspects about “The Great Gatsby.” This novel was first published in 1925 almost an entire century ago. Almost every single high school student is required to read this book during their time in school so there is a large portion of people who are familiar with the story. Whether the audience is 15 years old or 50 years old, this film definitely has the ability to draw in large crowds of people. Not only are people familiar with the story, but there is really something for everyone as well. There is romance for the females in the audience and there will be action, cars, and expensive boy toys for the males in the audience. Another strength is that this movie will be a modern adaptation of the book. There have been numerous attempts before to turn this book into a movie with the last one being in 1974 but they have all been critical failures. There has never been a modern adaptation done before which could potentially bring in more viewers.

Unformatted text preview: This film is going to be highly marketable and because we plan on marketing in a number of locations including clothing stores, we would definitely be able to play up the fashion element in the movie. Fashion is very big at the moment and is very easy to sell, especially in a movie like this. Besides the story, the other main draw to the film is the main star, Leonardo DiCaprio. He is a very big star at the moment and would definitely be able to bring in a large audience. The director, Baz Luhrmann has worked with DiCaprio before so that is definitely an added bonus. This film has a very big budget and Baz has the ability to make this a very colorful, visually intriguing, and larger than life production. Both names give this film a lot of creditability and there is definitely a potential for this film to be a big hit and achieve blockbuster status....
