Matt Phares 2/13/2008 Why I Write Why do I write? I believe that this question can be answered in many different ways, from a serious response to a response that could split your sides. When I am asked this question the first thing that comes to my mind is freedom. I write to find my place of freedom. When I sit down and just write whatever comes to my mind I feel this surge of freedom flow through me. It is like I have been given a pair of wings to soar through the sky with. When I write I write about my life, my friends, and anything else I feel like writing about. My writing allows me to release my inner feelings. It allows me to express my feelings not just the feelings that everyone can see, but the feelings buried deep inside me that have been suppressed for years. My writing is an outlet for me. It allows me to relax and release all my thoughts for everyone to see. Writing can be seen as an art form, but I see writing as a form of expression, similar to art, but more freedom. Writing allows me to escape reality and enter to my own world, a world of
