Matt Phares English 102 October 9 th , 206 IW#4 Alexa Hackbarth defines a metrosexual as “A straight man who styles his hair using three different products, loves clothes and the very act of shopping for them, and describes himself as sensitive and romantic.” in her article Vanity, Thy Name is Metrosexual. On another hand, I believe that a metrosexual is defined as a man who tries to dress his best everyday and likes to be complemented on his appearance, as well as a man who is not afraid to express themselves to others. When I go to the gym and see those men on the second floor wearing tight shorts and shirts that are constantly staring at themselves in the mirror, this is what I consider to be a metrosexual man. The definition Hackbarth gives is the more valid because she has a more descriptive and logical definition than I. The media plays a large role in defining gender roles, as long as I can remember media has been influencing who males and females should be. Today the media portrays the desirable
