Sperm Siblings: The New Family Ted Ted is a graduate student at UC Berkley. In need of some extra money to help pay for school, he decides to donate sperm at a California sperm bank. Why not make some cash and help with someone’s dream of having a family? At this facility, Ted can earn up to $100 per donation and up to $1200 a month by donating 3 times a week. The sperm bank’s website shows them to be very selective in who they allow to donate, and besides, he’ll be assisting others in fulfilling their dreams of having a family. In return, Ted will receive supplemental income and comprehensive health and genetic screening free of charge. Ted learned that semen samples are normally produced by masturbation and that condoms can't be used because they contain spermicides or release chemicals from the rubber that can damage sperm. Today, Ted is heading to their offices to be interviewed by a specialist doctor. The interview involves taking note of Ted’s medical and family history, as well as the completion of a physical exam. 1. What questions should Ted ask about the process of sperm donation?
