University of Phoenix Material Appendix B Using the University Library Suppose you are researching the advantages and disadvantages of affirmative action in the workplace. 1. Write some key words or phrases that would help you search the library. Click in the gray boxes to begin typing. Enter the library, and choose “major articles databases.” Select one of the three databases. 2. In the search field, type some of your key words or a phrase. Try using different combinations of key words to get different results. How might having many options for key words and phrases help you search for articles? 3. Use a different database and search for Affirmative Action . How many articles did your search produce? Do the first few results seem to pertain to the topic? 4. Now search for Affirmative NOT Action (Use capital letters for the word NOT). What do you notice? How does adding the word NOT change the results? Work Place
