18-418: Electric Energy Processing: Fundamentals and Applications Fall Semester, 2009 Homework # 7 Due on the class of November, 19 th Problem 1 For the four bus system shown in Figure 7.1, the base values are 100MVAand 200kV and the line data is given in Table 7.1. Bus1 Bus2 Bus3 Bus4 Figure 7.1 Table 7.1 Line Resistance (pu) Reactance (pu) 1-2 0.001 0.15 1-3 0.001 0.012 1-4 0 1 2-4 0.002 0.015 3-4 0.001 1 The 200MW and 60Mvar load is connected to bus 3 and the 100MW and 60Mvar load is connected to bus 4. The voltage magnitude of bus 1 is set to 1.0 and bus 2 is set to 1.02 pu. The output of the generator at bus 2 is 200 MW. Assume flat (all 0 s and load |V|=1.0) start. a) Calculate one iteration of the decoupled power flow b) Calculate the DC power flow. c) What is the real power generation at the bus 1 using the DC power flow? d) What is the maximum real power transfer from bus 1 to bus 2?
