A critical infrastructure is a community or publicly owned resource that will allow authorities and the public to obtain necessary services. A public road, public utilities, telephone services, cable television, etc. are all part of the critical infrastructure. People use these things to obtain help, to evacuate, to obtain necessary services, to keep themselves alive, and to reach those that may need help. A key asset, on the other hand, is property that is owned by a party that can be used to save or help people obtain necessary things and services.
