There are different beliefs about the root cause of ill health, which affects the way the caregiver communicates. This activity will help you understand the biomedical and biopsychosocial models that encompass the different theories and beliefs about illness, and will help you gain insight into the types of communication to expect with each model. Categorize each theory, belief, or caregiver communication under the correct model—biomedical or biopsychosocial—by placing an “ X ” in the appropriate column as shown below.
