Like with any speech my speech for an introduction to technology of “The Evolution of Home Video Formats,” was not perfect and could be improved upon. I feel as if my delivery was satisfactory in terms of eye contact but gestures and expression could all need to be worked on. My use of presentation aids was very poor as I made a mistake while speaking. My style and language could have been improved to be more memorable . Many aspects in the delivery of my speech needed to be or could be improved upon. I used the delivery method of extemporaneous speaking which is speaking with an outline without knowing the exact wording of my speech. Beebe and Beebe list eight characteristics of an effective delivery: eye contact, gestures, movement, posture, facial expression, vocal delivery, and personal appearance. I did use eye contact but also looked down quite often to read my next point I did however did look over the listener’s heads which the book says not to do. I could have added more gestures, movement, and use facial expressions in my speech. Gestures were
