SOC-220 November 10, 2019 Social Problems Within Education Social problems that are within the educational institutions are school shootings, disability discrimination, and racial discrimination. Public schools are more likely to experience episodes of crime. Racial discrimination is present in schools and students are being set apart from other students due to their race or skin color. Disability discrimination is seen in teaching methods such as tracking. For example, when students are taught in groups based on the performance in class and test scores. In this case there can be an affect in student’s confidence of their ability to learn.
