FSH Maturation of Follicles & Estrogen and Inhibin synthesis by Follicle Cells. Positive Feedback of Low Levels of Estrogen on the Follicles - Low Levels of Estrogen stimulates synthesis of FSH receptors on estrogen producing cells (granulosa cells) within the Follicle (Autocrine Effect of estrogens) increase estrogen levels 5 – 11 days in cycle when FSH levels are decreasing. Negative Feedback of Low Levels of Estrogen on Hypothalamus and FSH Gonadotrophs in Anterior Pituitary – Inhibits GnRH release by hypothalamus which decreases FSH synthesis and secretion by gonadotrophs. Negative Feedback by Inhibin on FHS Gonadotrophs in Anterior Pituitary – inhibits FSH synthesis and secretion by FSH Gonadotrophs Anterior Pituitary. Inhibin
