MAE2381 Experimental Methods and Instruments Fall 2008 Homework #2: MATLAB Exercise Assigned: 9/8/08 Due: 9/15/08 11:00 am Problem Statement : Edit the attached MATLAB files (Sampling.m and f_fft_fk.m) to perform the following tasks: 1. Sample a sinusoidal signal (Frequency = 1000 Hz, Amplitude = 2 volt, φ = π /4) use the following sampling rate and frame size and calculate its frequency spectrum. Save the sampled signals and their frequency spectra in separate Excel files. You should have seven files in total. Sampling rate , Hz s f 800 2500 5000 10,000 20,000 1024 5 5 5 5 2048 5 4096 5 Frame size 8192 5 2. Sample the same sinusoidal signal with a sampling rate of 10000 and a frame size of 1024; Add a random noise with an amplitude of 1 volt to the sampled signals. a. Apply a 3-point and 10-point moving average window on the noise-added signal. Save the original signal, noise-added signal and the averaged signal in separate excel files (three in total). b. Choose two settings for the low cut-off and high cut-off frequency of the 8 th order

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
