September 30 2 nd case study- Nevado del Ruiz volcano, Colombia more than 5 thousand meters tall in northern andes, close to equator more recent eruption- 1845 subduction related volcano world dangerous volcano are locatd in subduction zones Broad volcano- not realy pointy Ice at the top (key part of the story) Still remenant ice cap covered up with ash from the November 13 th eruption Mt st Helen and ruiz located close to eachother Tectonic setting is identical to that of st Helen in terms of subduction In 1984, 1985 Showed a lot of activity before and after the eruption

Scientists started seeing usually sizemisity. Interesting example of sizemisity that was noted, before the small percursery eruptin in September 1985.
