2 1. RAS Network 1. Preface: This document is to outline the total solution to bring RAS Associates up to current technologies and provide interconnectivity to all of their offices, as well as remote associates. This document will consist of several sub components: Network architecture o Chicago office architecture (Headquarters) o Detroit office architecture o Remote architecture Domain software o Chicago office software (Headquarters) o Detroit office software o Remote associate software Universal Phone Services Network Architecture Diagram (logical) These will break down each part of the architecture. Then a follow up section will bring the solution together as a whole.

4 2. Network Architecture: 1. Chicago Office Architecture The Chicago office will be exceeding its capacity within a year. Some additional hardware will need to be purchased. Proposed hardware purchase: Cisco Layer 3 switch or compatible hardware Juniper Netscreen gateway device or compatible hardware Cisco 2000 series router or compatible hardware Cisco VPN 3000 series Concentrator or compatible device Starting from the edge and working inwards, the office will be protected via firewall from un-trusted connections with a Cisco 2000 series or compatible router. This router has the ability to perform NAT, PAT, static routes, standard firewall capabilities as well as an inline Stateful Packet Filter. This will allow the company to grow as needed via the ability of adding routable public IP addresses as needed, and opening specific ports to specific IP addresses in a one-to-one fashion to allow clients, or perspective customers to connect into anything from a corporate portal, to a marketing website. On the edge, we will install a Cisco VPN series 3000 or compatible concentrator. This will provide interconnectivity to the current Detroit office, the remote associates, as well as any other offices that will be added during future expansions.
