Suggested Problems - Topic 1 1) - Range of Motion Measure the ranges of motion at the hip and knee joints during the back somersault depicted in the figure below. A) On each tracing, mark the location of the left hip, knee and ankle joints with a dot. Also place a dot at the midpoint of the shoulder joint. Connect the dots with straight lines so as to make a stick figure of the trunk and the lower extremity. B) Using a protractor, measure and record the trunk flexion angle and the knee flexion angle on each stick figure. Remember that all joint motions are defined with reference to the anatomical position. Hint. .. Extend the line from hip to knee and, using this as the anatomical position, measure joint range of motion relative to this line.
