Hindusim 2 Hinduism, a faith of great age, developed their first roots in India where it is also known under the name Sanatana Dharma and has many followers until day. It is one of the biggest religions in the world behind Islam and Christianity respectively, but instead of being founded by one individual, it is a melding together of many different religious beliefs and philosophies. The rise of Hinduism goes so far back in time that there are no written documents, which could help to pinpoint its exact beginnings. Hindus themselves think that their strong faith has many conceivers and that it is the religion of the India people, instead of being taught from one leader’s thoughts and ideas. Moreover, he or she believes Hinduism to be the religion of many gods and that all of their gods are aspects of one Supreme Being. However, as of today most Hindus have a preference for one specific god to whom he or she performs specific rituals, such as making offerings, especially for times of special needs (Fisher, 2005).
