Debate Nova Scotia Defense - we are surrounded by water but we have a British navy that will protect us. So there is no chance of anybody attacking us. It’s been said that British Navy is going to leave, but we will threaten them that we aren’t going to trade with them. They need us to trade with us or their economy will go down. The troops will also protect our traders. Trade - People fear that steamboats are going to take over our shipbuilding industries. However, steamships are being used only in Canada west and east for trading. According to their economy, steamships are not better than our ships. Trading companies are very far from us and make it hard to trade with them. America is still near us and we are going to ask them for the main resources we need. Then, we will ask the British and west Indies for the primary sources we need. Therefore, we get what we need most fast and other less important stuff afterwards. America won’t put heavy taxes on our goods because we will threaten them that we wont trade with them any more and we don’t necessarily need them because we have other trading companies. Money is not a problem because we are trading a lot making a lot of profit Government - we have our own responsible government and was granted by the British. Defense-
