Literary Luminary Chapter 17 Page 173, last paragraph Passage: “‘You’re a fool, Albert!’ Jamie shot back” 1) Even though this was a very little passage, to me this was a very important passage. Before, Jamie had always been scared of Albert and always felt uncomfortable around him. However, this time Jamie stood up for himself and did not let Albert push him around. Jamie knew what he had to do and he was not scared of anybody this time. I picked this passage because Jamie has changed a lot overtime. Earlier, Jamie was very quiet and was never open-minded. After a while in the book, Jamie turns very mature and wants to prove to his family, that he is strong. In my opinion, Jamie overtime in the book changes a lot and now he stands up for himself. This passage proves that he has changed. Page 179, paragraph 4 Passage: “Campbell was stunned to see the Métis and the members of the Bains family arrive to help them save the farm. Louis ignored him. He positioned the men along the perimeter of the garden and one near the stable. He sent his brother, Joseph along with Robbie, up on top of the house.” 2) What really surprised me in this passage was that the Métis were actually helping the
