Sir John Alexander Macdonald Imagine a world without Canada. If Canada was never formed what would have happened to all the slaves that Canada helped rescue with the Underground Railroad. Also, if Canada was never formed what would happen to all the refugees that Canada takes every day. Canada is a very important place and the world needs a country like Canada. How was Canada Formed? Canada was formed by no other than a great Canadian named John A. Macdonald. Now who is this person and how did he form Canada? Well John A. Macdonald was the first prime minister of Canada and also joined Canada. He helped bring the provinces of Lower Canada, Upper Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island and the great Northwest Territories into the Canadian Federation. John A. Macdonald was born on January 11, 1815 and died on June 6, 1891. John A. Macdonald had some allies to help him join Canada.
