Objective The objective of this laboratory assignment was to understand, view,  and draw the various components of human blood. Also, to estimate the  number of blood cells and to determine what results in an irregular number  of blood cells.  Methods and Materials Materials for this laboratory experiment include various different pre-made  blood smear slides along with a microscope.  The method for this laboratory experiment was viewing the pre-made blood  smear slides under the microscope. While viewing, the white blood cells,  red blood cells, platelets, neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, monocytes,  and lymphocytes were to be identified and sketched. Then, one abnormal  slide was to be viewed and differences observed.  Results From viewing a normal blood smear, I observed the following results: Approximately 0.5% of the cells were basophils Approximately 2.0% of the cells were eosinophils
