Previewing or pre-reading the material before beginning to study it. This is the first thing I did, previewed the material. Question What questions did you ask? Ask questions about your assignment, know the topic and ask questions pertaining to chapter headings. I wrote these questions down. Read How did you read? I read the information closely paying attention to the questions I asked in step two. I paid attention to all material, even the bullets and boxed text. Recite What did you recite? I began to answer the questions from step two

I did this a few times to absorb the material thoroughly. Wrap-Up Questions : How successful was the SQ3R process in helping you grasp the concepts in the section you selected? Will you use SQ3R in the future as a way to master the content in academic readings? The SQ3R process was very helpful in grasping the concepts.
