Christina Suarez January 27, 2008 ENG 105- Marsom “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” Response Coincidentally I had already read this piece last year in my English class to pass time. Luckily, I forgot what it was about. At first I was very confused because I did not know what was going on or why he was not serving. As the story went on I was able to pick up on the story line. As I read the story, I felt sorry for the guy and wanted to help him out of the situation. What really made me sad was we do not know why he is going to be hung or what he did to deserve it. I did not know if he was going to be killed when the guy stepped off the plank or if he was going to get shot by those who were firing upon him. At some point I thought he had escaped and was on his way back home. That fantasy sure came to an end when I realized that he was dreaming and had just been killed by being hung....
