ISACA 2 The Information Systems Audit and Control Association also known as ISACA was start in 1967 when a few individuals got together and discussed the need for information to have a centralized source and guidance. (ISACA, 2010, p. 1) A couple years later the group became officially incorporated and was known as the EDP Auditors Association. (ISACA, 2010, p. 1) Today the ISACA has grown to include more the eighty-six thousand members across the world. (ISACA, 2010, p. 1) ISACA members range from a number of different professional IT-related positions which include but aren’t limited to consultants, CIO’s, auditors and security professionals. The purpose of ISACA is to set the standards for IS auditing and IS control standards around the world and to research the professional issues that challenge it standards. (ISACA, 2010, p. 1) ISACA leads the pack for information technology control and provides elements that are needed by IT professional to its members worldwide. (ISACA, 2010, p. 1)
