WHAT IS A COMPUTER? - A computer is an electronic device, operating under the control of instructions stored in its own memory that can accept data, process, and more. a. Data and information: i. Data is a collection or unprocessed information. ii. Information is useful to people and conveys meaning. b. An FAQ helps you find answers to commonly asked questions. c. Information processing cycle: i. Computers process data into information. ii. Instructions are the steps that tell a computer how to perform. iii. The information processing cycle is the series of input, process, output, and storage activities. III. THE COMPONENTS OF A COMPUTER – Hardware is electric, electronic, and mechanical components of a computer. a. Input devices: i.
