CS 106
Fall 2010
Numerical Linear Algebra
Homework 1
Due Wed Sep 29, 1:59pm
Prof. Amit Chakrabarti
Computer Science Department
Dartmouth College
General Instructions:
Please write concisely, but rigorously. This is very important. Do
not
write up half-baked ideas in
the hope of getting “some” credit. You are budding researchers: your writing should reflect that.
Honor Principle:
This homework is at the level of a review, so
you are required to work entirely on your own.
This means
that you may not discuss the specific problems on the homework with fellow students, or the professor, or the TA. You
should not attempt to discover solutions to these problems from any online resources. However, you
may
talk about linear
algebra in general or with any of these people, and you
may
use textbooks or online resources to brush up your linear
algebra.
If in doubt, ask the professor for clarification!
