Telcom 2110 Network Design Homework #5 Solution, Spring 2010 1. Using the Delite network design tool on the class web page load the input file EW.INP (use File menu – read input file box). Using the design menu compare the cost and topology of building a tree network with center node N30 using the following algorithms (a) Prim’s (b) Prim Dijkstra with  0.5, (c) Prim Dijkstra with 1 (d) Esau Williams (e) Sharma. For each design turn in a copy of the topology and the network cost. Comment on the different topologies. Algorithm Design Cost Comments Prim’s 18868 - Lowest-cost - Large hop counts to the hub (high delay) Prim Dijkstra with   0.5 22560 - Slightly higher cost than Prim’s - But lower hop counts to the hub (lower end to end delay)
