HA 210- Hotel styles and classification: 1. Individually owned 2. Chain hotels (flag) 3. Management company 4. Franchised- the buyers acquires rights from the seller (franchiser). Those rights give the franchisee exclusive use of the name, the product, and the system of the franchisor within a given geographic area. An independently owned hotel or motel that appears to be a part of a chain and pays a fee for that right and for the right to participate in the chains advertising and reservation systems. o Size: # of the available rooms is the standard measure of size Small: (0-100) Medium: (100-300) Large: (300-500) Mega: (500- +) o Price: Varies o Location: Airport Downtown Highway o Type: Business Transient Extended stay Resorts
