The duration of the quiz is 30 minutes. Next Friday is public holiday. We will have the first quiz on Friday of week 3 (Feb. 18). Please do some review and preparation for the quiz. Homework solution: the solution will be put in the Math152 folder in the library reserve on or before Thursday every week. You can borrow or download it for reference. Now let us review what we have learned this week. And I will give you some examples. Differential equations: A differential equation is an equation relating a function (unknown and to be solved), its derivatives, and the independent variables of the function. Classifications: ODE: a single independent variable PDE: more than one independent variable order: the highest number of derivatives in the equation linear: linear in all unknowns (function and its derivatives) nonlinear: Examples: In the following, classify each as an ODE or a PDE, give the order and indicate whether the equation is linear or nonlinear. 0.
