Objectives include: a. demonstrate the skills of presenting a comparative literary analysis b. compare the literary aspects common the works studied c. explore possible links or relationships between the works in ways that show individual insight, personal engagement and an appreciation of the cultural similarities and/or differences relevant to the analysis Possible topics include: a. narrative technique b. characterization c. portrayal of society in the literature studied d. international perspectives on common human problems e. cross-cultural perspectives on the artist’s role in society Process: 1. Reflect on what you have learned so far from these novels. What are some big ideas, themes, questions, etc. that pique your interest? 2. Make a graphic organizer or outline for each text. Make note of the cultural context, structure, dynamic features, ideas and interesting things from each one. You might want to work with a partner to help along the brainstorming process. 3.
