Theoretical Paper Regarding Japan’s Naval Aviation Superiority Intro o Maybe start with:  Example of other military surprise attacks and that Pearl Harbor is one  that was a surprise but would have been a US loss without the surprise o Subject introduced by historical question:  Did Japan possess superior aviation prior to Pearl Harbor to defeat the  United States o Answer/Thesis Japan’s superiority in military aviation would have allowed them to defeat  the United State’s forces at Pearl Harbor regardless of Japan’s surprise  tactics. o Significant because with proper estimation of the United States’ enemies overall  (rather than disregarding Japan and focusing on the War in Europe with  Germany) they could have realized how outmatched the US was within military  aviation US disregarded Japan’s level of military aviation o Points/Information/Evidence
