The surgeon is a physician in the medical field that performs surgery. The road to becoming a surgeon is long, and starts in college, where pre-medical classes are taken to prepare one for the rigorous educational background needed for a career in medicine. The Medical School admission test, known as the "MCAT" is taken and used by medical schools in evaluating your application for medical school. Once in medical school, 4 years of schooling is completed and the "USMLE", or US medical licensing exams are taken. There are three "steps" to this exam, with Step 1 and Step
