HCA 230 week 5 Marginalized Population Simulation In the first scenario I worked with an elderly lady who had high blood pressure and some fluid retention in her lungs. She had a hard time understanding the doctor’s explanation of why she had the problem and what the cause of action to be taken meant. A good communication tip would be for the doctor to slow down a little, explain what the medication is for in a way the patient can understand and ask the patient if he/she has any questions, be observant and realize the confusion in the patient’s body and be sure by every means possible that the patient does not leave confused, either by verbal communication, pamphlet, and or written instructions by the doctor. This would help the patient in understanding what is expected of him/her and what the medication is expected to do. In the second scenario the patient can speak English but tentatively and always brings her daughter for interpretation needs, feeling more at ease with her daughter there with her. She is
