HCA 230 week 9 capstone Medical Assistant As a medical assistant the first thing that needs to be done is help him calm down by letting him explain why he is upset and what happened to make him upset. Once he tells me what happened, I would be sure that he understands that I empathize with him and apologize for the lack of medical staffs concern for his emotional state and leaving him alone after revealing his illness. I would assure him that I would speak to his doctor and let him/her know that he wished to speak to someone. Once I was sure the patient was in a calmer state of mind I would speak with the doctor, and then I would be sure to report to the administrator to be sure that he/she is aware of the situation and that the patient was very upset and needs extra attention. Administrator As the administrator, the minute I received the report on the patient. I would have the staff assigned to that patient to his room immediately, to one, check his vitals and apologize for being left alone for so long. I would be sure then that his doctor went to see him and thoroughly
