Robert Frost once said that “hanging around until you’ve caught on” is what education means. To me Priya Mathon this describes my 12 years of education. Having lived in New York City, like Mr. Frost says I was just “hanging around”, I got good grades, had many friends, enjoyed school but felt that I had no purpose in life/no push. School did not bring me the drive to show the world what I was capable of. I was not challenged by the school system or my teachers, I was simply good enough. But when I moved to the Williamsville suburbs, I was in a total shock. My world turned up side down; I went from the top the class to the middle. I finally learnt of how much education was needed in life. It took me some time but I finally caught up to education. I knew if I wanted to become something in life I had to motivate myself. My parents always had wanted me to achieve an education, since they were never given the opportunity. They wanted for me to give my children something they could never give me. This was the spark to my fire
