ESPM 50 - Extra credit: Recommended books These are recommendations for extra credit projects. Limitless other possibilities are available. Talk with Kurt or your GSI for suggestions. You may write a book report or read a book (or specific chapters) and an article or two and write up something more analytical. You may also choose to read one of the books based in the Bay Area or other areas of California, and visit a place discussed in the book. In any case, you may want to search for book reviews of your chosen title that will allow you to situate your analysis in the context of what others have written about the book. Please do not write a book report on books that you have already read or write a paper based on reviews without reading the book. If we find this to be the case, you will receive no credit for the project and will be further penalized at our discretion. Check the following sites for book reviews and ideas about appropriate titles: Research Guide: Ethnicity and Identity in Literature: http://people.wcsu.edu/reitzj/subj/ethnic.html H-Net online: http://www.h-net.org/reviews/ New York Times book reviews section: http://www.nytimes.com/pages/books/ The New York Review of Books: http://www.nybooks.com/ Washington Post book reviews: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp- BookReview.com:
