Alex Henry Mr. Koster AP GOV. – D 9/8/10 New constitutional convention This proposal would modify Section 1 of Amendment XIV to prevent abortions from happening, while still allowing the death penalty to be in use. It would not only prevent abortions, but bar the killing of the unborn in any scientific research as well. This proposal would secure the rights of every human being in the United States, regardless of age, health, race, sex, and even dependency. 1 Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the 2 jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. 3 No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities 4 of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or 5 property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the 6 equal protection of the laws. The word ‘person’ applies to any human being, regardless
