Chart aligning the goals and assessments: Goals for Content: Know the different Plate Locations. Be able to locate the different plate and plate rifts on a map. To know the different types of Earthquakes. To be able to differentiate between p-waves and s-waves. Students should know why earthquakes happen Students should know what happens in the crust and on land after an earthquake. Goals for Skills and processes: Students should be able to locate earthquakes on a map. Students should be able to record data and analyze it. Students should be able to take material from text and apply it to stories fictional and non-fictional. Students should be able to take definitions from text and memorize it. Students should be able to find plate rifts and faults on map. Assessment: Math Lesson 1: Students will use location of plates to determine where earthquakes will occur. Science Lesson 1 : Students will analyze plate and fault maps in reading. After they will perform a lab based on what they read. Science Lesson 1
