Homework 1 Question 1: Explain the difference between digital, analog and mixed signal circuits. Give an example of each type Analog circuits are the circuits that deal with continuous variations of voltage, pressure and current over time. So by definition, inputs to analog circuits could be, and are, real time voltage/current/pressure and converts those information into something useful as per the need. Digital Circuits, on the other hand, are circuits that are represented by discrete numbers at certain intervals instead of representing them as a continuous signal. Mixed signal circuits, in simple words, are integrated circuits that consist of both analog and digital circuits on the same semiconductor die. Question 2: Role of SPICE simulation in IC design. Give a circuit example and its SPICE net list. SPICE: its acronym means Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis. By definition, SPICE helps simulate circuit behaviors and transient behaviors. As transistors counts have increased to millions, SPICE can also perform several analyses for integrated
