1. Name a personality trait that you think would be more validly measured with I-data than S- data and explain why. Validity is the extent to which a measurement actually reflects or measures what you think it does. Likability is one personality trait that I think would be more validly measured with I-data than S-data. Likability is based on the opinions of others. The only way an individual could assess their own likability would be to use what others have told them as a frame of reference. Some individuals have a distorted self-perception and an inability to realistically assess their effect on others. An individual with a personality disorder for example might not be able to accurately answer a question in regards to likability. Even someone who is capable of answering the question truthfully may not wish to do so. Most individuals would be quite hesitant to admit that most people dislike them. As suggested by the textbook, an attribute such as likability would best be considered a construct, since it cannot be directly seen or touched but is related to things that can be seen. As such, likability would best be tested through construct validation. 2. A student has created a questionnaire to measure the trait of honesty. All of the items yield S- data. The student wants to know how validly the questionnaire measures stable individual difference in honesty. Describe some research that you would recommend to the student to
