Hunter The general duties of a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) have numerous differences among them. A Registered Health Information Administrator is considered an expert in managing a patients health information and medical records, also in using classifications and medical terminologies. A Registered Health Information Technician would focus more on the quality of medical records. They do so by checking the patients records for accuracy and completeness, and make sure the information has been properly entered into the computer systems. A Registered Health Information Administrator should hold a broad spectrum of knowledge of medical, administrative, ethical, and legal requirements. They should also be familiar with the standards of healthcare delivery and the privacy of patient information.
