I believe the Patient Self-Determination Act may have had a large effect on health care delivery. The act consists of seemingly important details and decisions on the patient’s behalf. The patients would have to be informed of the act and all of the new options and rights that come with the act. Then after decisions have been made by the patients, the correct information would have to be transferred into the patient’s records. If records management did not do this and a patient had made a decision that was not respected or followed through with it could result in major legal action from the family against the facility....
