After going over the readings, in my opinion, I do not think that the United States government should favor certain kinds of immigrants. I believe that everyone should be held to the same standards as the next person. Not only is it unfair to give special privileges, but who is to say that one person’s needs or reasons are more important than another? If citizenship is given based on need, talent, or economic stance then I would could consider that to be prejudice and judgmental. No matter what the reason, immigrants mainly want to be here in the United States to create a better life for themselves and their family. Who wouldn’t respect and want the same for their own families. Although, some reasons for wanting to enter the United States are jaded and unreasonable. Some immigrants, no matter what country may have hidden agendas, and for that reason I believe all immigrants should be processed the same and held to the same standards. I understand that the process is long and grueling, but it is something that just has to
