Wednesday 12/9 Notes on watching the second half of The Laramie Project …. here are just some of thoughts/notes I wrote down as I was watching it: The last medical update Harry Woods describing the tag on the end of the homecoming parade… “Thank God I got to see this in my lifetime” The wife of the highway patrolman talking about Matthew “Two Queers and a Catholic Priest” (Father Roger Schmit) “Matthew Shepard has served us well” “What is correct is correct” Words of hate are the “seed of violence” – faggot, dyke, etc. “You know what is true. You need to do your best to say it correct.” The company members talking about the trust of the people of Laramie that they will tell their story Baptist minister – hoping Matthew had a chance to “reflect on his lifestyle” as he was tied to the fence Matthew’s death announced. Statement from the family… “Go home, hug your kids…” The CEO of the hospital not realizing the “magnitude with which some people hate”
