TITLE
The Density of Liquids and Solids
OBJECTIVE
Find the relationship between Liquids and Solids by measuring many of their
characteristics like mass ,density and volumes.
INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS USED TO PERFORM EXPERIMENT
Top Loading Balance, Flask, Thermometer, Calculator, Unknown Liquid and Solid,
Distilled Water, Data sheets.
PROCEDURE/ ANALYSIS
Every material needed to perform the experiment was collected and ready to use. First the
weight of an empty flask was taken,
the measurement found was 32.60g. Then the flask was
completely filled with water and weighed, the mass of the filled flask filled with water was
60.11g.The difference of these two masses were taken, the result 27.51g. Next, we took the
temperature of the water which was 22 degree Celsius. The density of water at 22 degree Celsius
was 0.9978g/cm
3
. Since the density of water and mass of water was known, the mass of water
was divided by the density of water to find the volume of the flask, 27.57g/cm
