INSTRUEMENTS AND MATERIALS USED TO PERFORM EXPERIMENT
beaker, mass sample, filter paper, filter flask, buchner funnel,20g of sample, safety
glasses,bunsen burner, matches,watch glass,rubber policeman,distilled water,6m ammonia,test
tube ,ice bath, thermometor, top loading balance, gas and vaccum tubing, wire gauze , iron ring,
sample #27,Data sheets.
Every material needed to perform the experiment was collected and ready to use. First the
weight of an empty beaker was taken,
the measurement found was 115.13g. Then the weight of
the beaker plus sample 27 was taken it was 135.14g.The difference of these two masses were
taken the result 20.01g, the wieght of the sample. Next, the percentage of SiO
(sand) in the
smaple needed to be determined. the mass of the watch glass and filter paper was taken it was
42.44g. the sample was then put into a beaker and 40ml of distilled water was added. the bunsen
