Pointers for the EXAM 2: First of all  get enough sleep  as that seemed to be a major problem during quiz 3. You will have to think during  the Exam 2. Certain concepts that are in Practice test 2 will be used in Exam 2 so make sure that you thought  about them. This is your opportunity to take advantage of individual improvement points if you did not do so  swell on the first test and got chopped off points on quizzes. Use 1.5 hour of the exam to solve the problems (if  you get stacked on something move on and then go back the answer itself might be in another question on the  test!!). Last 30 minutes use to check for missing carbons, make sure that you have the right pH (acidic or  basic!) - Review NAD+/NADH mechanism and understand that you remove hydride (hydrogen with electrons!) you will  leave behind a positive charge. -Go back to ketones and aldehydes and review their reaction with alcohols and amines in acidic conditions,  make sure that you know mechanism tip top! -Compare the mechanism of aldehydes and ketones with mechanism for carboxylic acid derivatives -make sure you understand the water fall effect, you can go down but not up -you need to understand why some substituents are ortho and para directors and some are meta. You need to
