Brianne McClellan Paper #3 9/20/2010 M 6-8:40 I found it both interesting and appalling how it was perfectly acceptable and even legal  for a man to murder his wife for committing adultery .  Not that murder should have been  acceptable in either case but I found it to be unfair that it was not true in reverse .  I feel like it  spoke a lot about the times for it to be acceptable for a man to murder his wife for adultery  and yet the wife would have serious consequences to face if she were to murder her husband  for any reason , even adultery.  Of all of this week’s readings this is what stood out to me the  most .  This is something that I had heard of in other classes occurring in other cultures as  well .  However, killing in order to save one’s honor and dignity is something that I have never
