Purpose The purpose of this experiment was to find the limiting and excess reagents in the chemicals we  used. It also taught us how to use the centrifuge and the dessicator. The experiment helped us to  better understand lab equipment and how it works and what it does. Procedure I did not deviate from the procedures given. Dillon, Stephanie. “Limiting and Excess Reagents.”  CHM1045L Online Manual . Fall 2010.  Sept 2010.  <http://www.chem.fsu.edu/chemlab/chm1045lmanual/limiting/procedure.html>. Data and Results Observations: Cu(NO 3 ) 2  appeared to a blue liquid when first poured into test tube. KI appeared to be a yellow liquid when first poured into test tube. When Cu(NO 3 ) and KI where mixed together it made a not clear musty green  orangeish brown liquid in the test tube. After adding methanol into test tubes one and two, the liquid created a musky  orangeish yellow color.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
