Unformatted text preview: Birzeit University Physics Department Physics 112 Experiment No.9 Filters Students Name: Rafat tomeh Students No.: 1040985 Partners name: Qais sabbah Partners no : 1031001 Section: 4 Instructor: Dr. Ziyad Izzat Abstract: The aim of the experiment : - is to check the output voltage of low-pass and high-pass filters to find -3dB , and also to know how to use the low-pass filter as a differentiator and the high-pass filter as an integrator. Method used:- is by constructing an RC circuit and measure the output voltage for different frequencies. The main result : The theoretical value of -3dB is 10 kHz and the experimental value of -3dB is 10.05 kHz. The graphs that we obtained from the oscilloscope are in results and conclusion's part. Theory : Low Pass Filters It can be proved easily that for the circuit in figure 1: V out (t) = V in (t) / (1 + j RC) After some treating it becomes 2 2 2 1 ) ( ) ( C R t V t V in out + = The attenuation factor A, is defined as 2 2 2 1 1 ) (...
